still here

praise: we have an induction scheduled for wednesday, may 3rd. at least i know we'll have a baby next week. no more waiting after wednesday.

prayer: please pray that, maybe, just maybe, i could go before the induction date. also pray that dalton will remain healthy these last few days.

playfulness: tonight we had a wonderful family night. we walked to my sister's house and saw their new kitten, rosie. auburn even warmed up enough to it that she held it. that was a big step for her. we then walked to a nearby park and played for a while before going home and having strawberry shortcake. i love nights like this.

as i have mentioned before, dave and landon like to play boxing on the playstation. the other day, landon told me that he will put dalton on the chair with him and play boxing with him.

i purchased a watermelon yesterday, and the kids were going crazy about it. this morning they voted 2 to 0 in favor of cutting the watermelon over the strawberries. while i was scooping out one half, landon decided to lick the other half. i scooped out the part that he licked, gave it to him and told him to enjoy it. his response "i'm not going to joy it" and proceeded to hand it back to me. he then ate the other pieces that i had scooped. goofy kid.

at supper tonight, landon wanted to eat (as he calls it) "like God eats", meaning, reclining as dave had told him Jesus used to do. dave then explained to him that there were different tables in Jesus' day, and if Jesus came to our house today, He would sit up like mommy and daddy. Landon's response was "Jesus is too big for this house. our door is little and He's very tall!"

if i remember anymore of the funnies that have been happening, i'll post them later. one of my goals this weekend is to learn to put up pictures the new way. i've been putting it off for a while now, and i have some really good (and funny) pics to post.

tomorrow?

praise: we are all doing well. i know i keep posting that, but this is the longest that we have been well, and i am so thankful for it.

prayer: i have my doctor's appointment/ultrasound tomorrow. please pray that we are sent to the hospital to have the baby after we see the doctor. we'd REALLY like to have this baby tomorrow. also, my friend, vivian, is seeing her doctor tomorrow and has asked that we pray that she is encouraged/helped along in having her baby as well.

playfulness: landon told me yesterday that the baby "smells like dalton." as opposed to dawson.

one of landon's favorite pasttimes recently has been to play ready to rumble with daddy on the playstation. i have to say-it's very cute seeing them play together.

more funnies

praise: still healthy!

prayer: baby is still not here. having some contractions tonight. maybe...

playfulness: kids are not dealing with the possible name change very well. both are very adament about the name remaining dalton. i have to say that i am leaning that way-just so i don't have to deal with the frustration/temper tantrums after if we name the baby dawson. i do keep reminding landon and auburn that daddy gets to make the final decision, and whatever he decides is right.

i forgot to mention one of auburn's funnies from last week. we were given a pair of shoes that she will probably be able to wear next summer. she loves to put them on and walk around in them. one night last week, she went to all the trouble of finding them and putting them on in the dark before she walked to the foot of our bedroom stairs to call for me!  =)

last night, i woke up to much banging around at 3:30. i went downstairs to see which kid was in the bathroom. auburn had managed to put her ducky toilet seat on the potty and was standing there waiting for someone to come help her.

last night during our bedtime snack, dave told/showed landon how jesus used to recline to eat his meal. tonight, landon did the same thing then said "i want to eat like God eats!"

also during snack tonight, landon laid on one of our table benches and peered over the side while commenting "this is how God looks at us!"

New Poll!!!! Please vote!

praise: we are all still healthy (new record 1.5 weeks!)

prayer: please, please, please, pray that the baby is born this week. i am soooo ready to be done with the pregnancy.

playfulness: kids have said/done a number of funnies this week. last week, my dad was putting a new roof on his house. landon came home, climbed up on the toy house in our back yard, and started hammering "like grandpa!"

kids were playing with play-doh last week. landon had one of the shape tools. as strands of dough were oozing out, landon declared that it looked like spaghetti casserole, and that we were to have it for dinner.

auburn's vocabulary/understanding is increasing at an amazing rate right now. last week she looked out of our window at the neighbor's yard and said "three balls there!" there were actually three, too.

while looking at a meijer paper with me, auburn saw a boy in swim trunks. her response "boy, clothes on!" she didn't like that he wasn't fully dressed!

yesterday morning, i told auburn that i was going shopping to find her some clothes. she promptly said "hat! shoes!!" skip the other articles of clothing-let's get the important things!

the ground was wet and somewhat muddy this morning because of the rain last night. while dave was taking the kids out to the van, he told landon that he had to be careful because it was wet. landon decided that it would be a good move to jump off the steps-which resulted in grass stain all over his knee. good thing he has multiple pairs of tan pants and that we were not running late. =)

crush, part 2

praise: we're all feeling better every day!

prayer: please pray with us that the baby comes within the next 2 weeks. i'm hoping for a baby 8.5 lbs or less!

playfulness: dr. changed his mind (i guess). he said today that he will see me in two weeks. i'll be almost 38 weeks at that point. so much for helping me to go early!

landon informed me today that "madison told me (landon) that her dad is going up to heaven, so i don't have to ask him!" refer to yesterday's post if this isn't funny to you.

we have one of the most colorful porches at this point. i let the kids play with sidewalk chalk outside tonight. i had to run somewhere, and dave was working on his "ebrew" homework. as a result, i told the kids to stay on the porch and play. stop by if you're into rainbow colored porches!

"ebrew"

playfulness part 2: dave reminded me of another funny, thank you auburn. saturday night dave had a bunch of books out in the living room while he was preparing to speak for the jr. high department sunday morning. auburn came out in the living room, saw the books, and said "daddy  ebrew". she thought he was studying for his seminary hebrew class.

oh no-a crush!

praise: i am feeling much better!

prayer: i turned 35 weeks last friday, so i am officially allowed to deliver the baby. i'm hoping for next week sometime, dave is "secretly" hoping for this friday. please continue to pray for my health. i am still running an occasional fever, even after being on an antibiotic for the past 10 days.

playfulness: this morning, landon and auburn were dancing like a prince and princess. auburn had her dress-up nightgown on (again) for a dress. landon said to her "pull your dress with one side, auburn, that's what they do!"

i guess you could say that landon has his first "crush". the pathetic thing is-we don't promote such concepts here at the house. it's one of those personality things that i was hoping not to pass on to my children. he has declared that he is going to marry madison peterson. she's a cute little girl that is about a year older than him. he talks about her every day. she has a sister in auburn's class. in an attempt to dissuade landon, dave told him that he would have to ask her daddy before he could marry her, and that he was going to have to wait 17 years. landon asked dave if he would ask her dad for him! =) he's still talking about it, though.

auburn has been carrying a tchaikovsky tape around the past few days. she's been calling it "pirate!" today, i finally broke the news to her that it was a tchaikovsky tape. she promptly said "auburnovsky!" i've said before that she has a musical bent!!!  =)

squirrel

praise: kids seem to be doing better. now it's just me.

prayer: please continue to pray for me to feel better. my ears and throat are still having a lot of pain.

playfulness: the house to the left of us is empty. in the attic vent, we frequently see a squirrel lounging around. the kids love to come up to our bedroom and look at the squirrel next door. last week, landon decided that the squirrel needed to have a story time. he ran down to his bedroom and retrieved his "squirrel says thank you" book, ran back upstairs and proceeded to read the squirrel the story. he was even nice enough to show the squirrel the pictures as he read!

for those of you who are interested, we have posted pictures from january through march on our website.

contagious!!!

praise: I'm not in the hospital!

prayer: I did end up at the doctor again today. They sent me for chest x-rays. Since I didn't hear back from them, I'm assuming that I do not have pneumonia. My doctor said that if the x-rays showed that I had pneumonia, I would be in the hospital tonight. I did feel a little better late this afternoon, but the ickiness is returning.

playfulness: Not much playful here. Auburn was extremely tired and cranky today. I think she took 3 or 4 naps. Hope she isn't coming down with mono. One of my friends little girls had mono a month ago.

Whatever it is that we have-it's extremely contagious. My mom watched Landon for about 4.5 hours Friday evening, (trying to keep him from getting sick) and she is sick today. My friend watched him for about 4 hours Friday morning-and she's sick, too. We were trying to keep him healthy so that he could go to his friends birthday party this past Saturday. All our efforts didn't work as my parents called Friday at 9 to say that he wasn't acting himself. By the time Dave got there to pick him up and got him home-he was running a 102.5 temp.

Please keep praying for Dalton's health through all of this. He's almost here. For those of you who haven't heard, my doctor is planning on "helping" me go early-sometime between 36 and 38 weeks. Dalton is right on schedule to be as big or bigger than the previous two. Dr. is hoping to get a 7 pounder if we can go between 36 and 38. I wouldn't complain either. I'm 34 1/2 weeks right now. We're praying for delivery to be the week after Easter.

Anyway... better get ready for bed.

hello world!

praise: isn't the warmer weather wonderful!!! i'm so thankful for it.

prayer: please pray for us as we are all sick, again. i seem to have it the worst this time, but it's definitely a toss up. auburn ran a 105 degree temp on thursday. dave came down with it last weekend and seems to be finally on the mend. kids have bounced back quite quickly. i will probably end up a the doctor again tomorrow. also, i'm trying not to become discouraged this time, but i must confess-this round of illness is really wearing on me.

playfulness: i don't have a whole lot to say. we've had a lot of funnies, but we've also had a lot of grumpies. i'll try to remember some.

landon was sitting in the living room one day and asked if he could have a drink. i asked him what he wanted - "i want something with three letters in it." i knew immediately what he was referring to, and reminded him that he was only allowed to have that at supper. His response was "i was talking about P-O-P." i just found it humorous that he was trying to ask for it in "code" first by a description of the word and then spelling it out for me.

along similar lines of landon's "genius"- he was helping me put pepperoni on our pizza a few weeks ago. i asked him to put 15 pieces on. after putting 10 on i asked him how many he had left, expecting him to need to count or just flat out say "i don't know." his immediate response was "5!" i told him that he must have grandpa's mind for math.

dave jokingly called landon a skunk last night (for what reason-i don't remember, but it was a funny one). auburn then started calling him a "nunk". i guess you had to hear it to appreciate the humor in it.
