praise: we've made it into our second trimester.

prayer: dave came home at lunch today and told me that he wasn't feeling well. i guess i kind of expected that since the other three of us had the stomach flu last week. his seems to be something different though.

playfulness: where oh where to begin. i guess i'll start as far back as october 13th. it was a big day. we went to the pumpkin patch with a bunch of friends. this is the third year that we have done it, and every year we get a picture of lydia aloisi, dylan winnberg and landon. here are the pics from the past three years. the giant scarecrow that they are sitting in front of is holding a sign that says "let's see how much you've grown!" how fitting.

here are a few other pictures from the patch.

landon with bryce fite.

kids also got to jump in a giant inflated pumpkin. landon loved it and had a hard time getting out, auburn was absolutely terrified and didn't last more than a minute. after the patch, we went to champaign park, had a picnic lunch and then swung at a pinata. i only have a picture of auburn participating.

later that same evening, we all headed over to cearserland to celebrate jenna's third birthday. it was a lot of fun. we took many pictures of auburn "racing" at one of the steering wheel rides, landon and dave on a motorcycle ride, auburn in a moving frog and jenna opening her gifts. for sake of space i won't be posting them all here. you'll just have to check our website for all of the october pictures. notice in the picture that the only person without a party hat is the birthday girl. she didn't want to wear it.

on the 21st, landon went to pumpkin party at trevor sherf's house. they are in the same class at church. they were to dress up and then they did all sorts of things at the party-decorated pumpkins, made pizza, watched "the great pumpkin", received lots of candy and a pumpkin straw. landon had fun, but i was told that he kept saying "i just want to play" during all of the organized activities. that's my son for you. one of the first things that he said when i picked him up was "we didn't get to play upstairs." i'm assuming that is where a lot of trevor's toys are.  anyway, here's a pic of landon dressed up as woody. he loved taking off his hat and saying "howdy pardner!" of course, he wouldn't say it when we arrived at the party.

dave's "studio" (a.k.a. basement office) is about 90% complete. we just need trim on the windows and the doors up. if you would like to see pics, visit dave's weblog. shortly after dave and his friend moved our old entertainment center into the office (which dave was using to house some of his equipment), i decided it didn't work in there. so i helped dave move it out of the office into the kids' playroom. they love sitting in it, and today my niece said something about puppets and it gave me the idea to make it into a puppet stage center. landon loves the one at the library. now i just need to find some puppets!!! here's the pic of the kids in it.

in sunday school, i've been telling the three year olds what the names of noah's three sons were just for the fun of seeing how much they could remember. at one point it told them that one of the names was funny because it was a type of food, ham. well, last week it all paid off, sort of. i asked the question "what were the names of noah's three sons?" and one of the girls piped up and said "turkey!!" close, but not quite.

sunday night, my wonderful husband showed his wonderfulness. i had a migraine and wasn't going to be able to make it to church in the evening. i also didn't have any of the pregnancy-allowed tylenol in the house. he went to the store for me, but not only did he get my tylenol, he remembered that i had wanted a paper that day and snuck in a snickers bar, too. i was quite impressed. thanks, hubby!

last night, we went to a store to shop for a new tv since dave's business one bit the dust. why buy one for the business when we could get a better one for our living room and sell the old one to the business? anyway, they gave the kids mylar balloons and suckers when we arrived since it was "trick-or-treat" night. auburn managed to lose two balloons to the ceiling during our time there. the employees were very sweet and kept giving her new ones.

after we went home, we hurried and got the kids somewhat dressed up to go over to my parents'. landon went as woody again and auburn went as a princess. thankfully, one of my friends had a tiara that we picked up on the way over. otherwise, she would not have looked too "princessy". here's the pic.

after my sister and her family arrived, things really picked up. a "highlight" (ok, not really) was when phillip knocked the box of cheez-its (that i had left on a chair) onto the carpeted floor. the kids thought it was great and immediately started scarfing them down. all was well until landon started to dance on them. at that point, the feast was called off.

this morning my neice was singing "the farmer in the deli, the farmer in the deli, hi, ho the dairy-o the farmer in the deli" i had to laugh.

landon and jenna thought it would be great fun to sit in a laundry basket together. i was very surprised that they fit in it.

have a great night!!!
