the conference is over and i'm almost caught up on all the things that were placed on hold until after all of the conference stuff was finished. a couple of nail-biting projects are finally off of my plate and i'm almost able to relax and watch the cardinals whip up on the tigers. i'm not a cardinals fan by any stretch, but i always cheer for the nl. . .and i can't cheer for the tigers. the wife is pulling for the motown cats. keeps the games interesting.
i'm hoping to get a free taco out of the world series, but i think it is a rigged promotion.
buckeyes continue to look good. still hard to imagine them as the #1 team in the nation. lots of michigan fans are asking to watch the game on the 18th with me. not sure what will happen. i don't have enough space at the house to host a party big enough for everyone, but it would be fun to be around a lot of michigan fans that day. my prediction is that they will either lose to michigan or in the bowl, but they will not win or lose both.
speaking of college sports, many have not heard about the little stunt that florida basketball coach billy donovan pulled on friday the 13th. the story can be found here (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/news/story?id=2624693) and there is even a video clip of him dropping a fake trophy.
lan party is up and coming. students are trying to rig the teams so that they actually have a chance at beating the teachers.
tonight, i took my little princess to the library. she got a chipmunk puppet to play with and was excited about showing it to her stuffed cat. when we got back to the van, she said something about who she was not going to let play with the puppet. i didn't recognize who she said, so i asked her who would get to play with it. she answered very seriously, "actually, i will." i couldn't stop laughing.
more later. . .
peace and java
